Explosion grass
No, that's not the name of the plant, but it could be.
Went up to Potter's Bridge (but my shots through the bridge were way underexposed. alas) and walked around. I waded through chest-high stinging nettle to check out this sweet old tree. It was at least 5 feet in diameter with a large bulbous trunk (sort of a mass) 8 feet tall. From that, 1 huge trunk and another medium-sized trunk sprouted.
It turned out to be a sycamore tree, probably at least 200, 250 years old if not more. I'd have taken a picture except that would've meant ducking into the stinging nettle.
Have you ever touched stinging nettle? If not, it hurts like a bitch. It stings and burns and itches for awhile and water only makes it worse.
edit: forgot to mention, stinging nettle goes through denim. it sucks.
