Christmas Tree Decorations 6 (I think)10

I was given these a long time ago. I think they inspired the batches of homemade decorations I make every year. I like the way the material isn't christmassy but they are all shiny so look good on the tree.

They are made from polystyrene balls, grooves are cut in them and the different edges of the material are pushed into these. Bits of ribbon and beads are held in with pins. I made batch of these one year. I reckoned that the polystyrene balls were too expensive and had a hand at making my own. I got that yellow coloured, spray, filler foam that builders use and squirted it into balloons. It did kind of work, I ended up making massive oval shaped decorations. It also ended up costing a fortune as I discovered that the foam which normally grows huge before hardening, needs air to expand and there isn't any air inside a balloon! I ended up only getting a few out of each huge can of foam and the excess foam went all over my hands, floor and table. I never did that one again!
