Reflections of Stourhead
I thought I'd start the day off well with a walk around the Stourhead estate.
When we've been to Stourhead in the past, we're there at the weekend and it proves to be a very popular choice on the weekend.
It was strange to see it today so quiet and still and on my own. It was much better for getting a better look at the wildlife though. I especially enjoyed the squirrels who were tearing up and down one of the Douglas Firs like a couple of nutters.
After the walk I went for a reccy around Waitrose, just checking out what I want to put on my list for Friday's food shop.
I did however purchase a box of Heston's mince pies with 'pine sugar' to sprinkle on.
Sounds nice and I'm looking forward to trying them.
I was tempted to buy one of the Heston desserts but I thought £15.99 for a pudding was a tad extravagant.
I'm really missing Claire, 3 days is quite enough time to spend apart but I won't see her until Saturday. It seems like such a long time away.
