Marzipan

I tried to ice the cake today.
Firstly no icing sugar! Then I unwrapped the cake. Damp, sprung to mind as a word to describe it. Certainly beyond moist. Surfing the limits of acceptability in a cake. Reminding me how I managed to break the Welsh dresser with a similarly hydrated cake a few years ago.

Anyhow after an afternoon airing and the purchase of some icing sugar, it is now covered in marzipan. The leftover marzipan made some lovely flowers which proved popular.
