Today I embarked on a long trip from Matsue to Mastuyama, crossing the ocean along the way. It was nice to get the sun on my face again after a very wet time in Matsue.

In the evening I enjoyed a lovely soak at Dogo Onsen, the oldest in all the land (and inspiration for the hot spring in the film Spirited Away). I went for the VIP option which gave me access to Kami-no-yu (water of the gods) and Tama-no-yu (water of the spirits) as well as a private room to enjoy tea and some sweets. Magnificent!
