Sleeping Beauty

Although this is almost a replica blip from one in January, the message has changed, and seems more apposite.

As a reminder, the building on the left is the Bradford Odeon, a fine 1930s cinema which is scheduled for demolition, despite widespread opposition from the people of Bradford. I've told that story many times before in this blog, but if you'd like reminder, you might check out the Bradford Odeon Rescue Group site.

The building on the right is the Alhambra Theatre, which again has featured in many previous blips, and here they are advertising their 2012-13 panto, by projecting onto their near neighbour.

As the City Park over the road nears completion, and the barricades around that come down for the first time in two years, perhaps the Council and developers will recognise what to most of us seems obvious, the Odeon and the Alhambra complement each other beautifully.

Perhaps some Prince Charming of a developer will come along and kiss some life into this Sleeping Beauty.
