This year we opted for a fake Christmas tree since we'll be in Phoenix over the actual holiday. Taking the Christmas tree down before Christmas even got here would have been most unfortunate.

I took this before we decorated it, and now it looks even more like the real thing. The box even says "7.5 foot Virginia Pine" for those of you picky fake-tree shoppers that demand a selection of pine varietals.

Maybe I could even go throw some Pine Sol hardwood floor cleaner on it for that authentic pine smell. The chemical burns on our brains due to excessive inhalation would be a small price to pay for that special Christmas-y feeling, indeed.
