Cities of the Silent
I'm "reading" The Siege of Krishnapur (on audiobook) by R G Farrell at the moment and quite enjoying it. As I had an hour or so to kill before work today, I was looking for inspiration and the phrase, "cities of the silent" from the book inspired me to drive over to the City Cemetery. The City Cemetery has some wonderful headstones and some very old plots, and is laid out rather regally with long wide avenues between the burial sections. It is rather majestic compared to the newer Milltown Cemetery across the Falls Road.
Anyhow, I intended to take a few shots to capture the cities of the silent idea and this was the one that fitted the bill best. The "yellowness" to the shots is due to some lovely winter sun, despite the fact that it was 1.5°, and I went on my backside, on the ice at one point.

Yes, I *know* I promised I'd catch up with comments this evening, but I'm not long home from work and it's 00:29, and I'm up at 05:40... :p
