It seemed a good idea at the time...
I made Jamie Oliver's get ahead gravy last week, and it was so nice that after having it with a roast, and in a pie, there was not quite enough left over to guarantee proper portions for the adults on Christmas day (the Bisto-weaned children refused to try it). So another roast today and I was inspired to make some more with the leftovers. That's when it started to go wrong. I had a look to see what else there was in the fridge. Mushrooms, bit of veg, large wadge of chorizo surfing close to its use by date... Then my lovely gravy started to smell like off, smoked dead dog.
