Buffers Walk.
(Before I forget have just back bliped yesterday at the Grassington Dickensian Christmas Festival.)
Our walking club Christmas walk strated a wonderful cafe called "Buffers".
In a farm high above Bolton Abbey.
The name is because in the room above the cafe is a wonderful model railway.
Also as well as a cafe it is a shop, where you can buy all you need for your own train set. I have never seen such a wonderful selection of trains etc.
Also other toys. A fantastic place.
Our walk took us high up onto the moors near Simons Seat. This photo is a panoramic shot I took near the top. The view was fantastic. A clear frosty day. Wonderful blue sky and sunshine. Couldn't have wished for a better day!
We had a picnic lunch in a bothy up on the moors ( Sort of shelter for the shooting parties I think)
Everyone brought food to share, along with mulled wine and coffee. A real feast!!
Managed the rest of the walk feeling rather full!
Came back down through The Valley of Desolation (Beautiful really!) and back to Bolton Abbey.
Only problem then was the walk back up to Buffers where we had left the car!
Fortunately the cafe was still open, so a hot cup of tea revived us for the drive back home.
Another great day out!
We have had a wonderful weekend. Hope everyone else has had a good one too.
