Stuffed
Today is my big sisters birthday. Considering she's 35, single and childless she's taking the day well.
Had a fantastic morning with mimosas although I can't seem to drink anything at the moment without feeling ill. Perfect timing for the holiday season!
Had the most amazing meal at the village hotel for her birthday. 5 courses for a tenner. I was expecting over cooked mush but it was seriously nice. I only managed a big fat three courses and wimped out on the soup and cheese. I can kind of see why half of the country is obese when u can eat and eat for that price. Thank goodness I have will power..... Oh wait, I dont!
While we were there there was a massive (and I mean massive) party going on for another birthday. Turned out all of the cards, presents, banners and balloons were for a 1 yr old. Something about that strikes me as a little odd.
The first mean I had out was when I was twelve and that was for my sisters 16th. We wernt well off so I'm not sire if we hadn't been before as we couldn't afford it or if perhaps we may have been a little to young to appreciate it.
Anyway, back to the meal.... The majority of the people there had small kids who weren't able to enjoy the meal they had paid for due to feeding babies, burping, changing and the 'it's screaming the place down, let's go out as not to offend the other diners' run. I'm sure when little Jamie (I know this because it was screamed over and over for the best part of an hour) is older he is going to look back on his birthday meal at the restaurant with fon memories.
Perhaps a party at home may have been more appropriate.... But who am I to judge!
