Salmon harling on the River Tay, Perthshire

This is Dave Barwick, Tay Ghillie at Upper Scone, picture here harling a pool called the Tar Tank next to Stanley Mills. A salmon of 36 lb had been caught in this spot the previous week. A few years ago it would have been knocked on the head for the tables. But these days most of them go back.
