King - Junior

At this time of year the King Penguin colonies are full to bursting.

There are birds sitting on eggs, there are birds courting, there are birds moulting, and last seasons chicks are huge and curious.

This chap, a King Penguin chick ready to moult his brown chick-fluff and to turn into a real King Penguin, was at Fortuna Bay and was certainly intrigued by a large wellington boot worn by one of my fellow travellers.
