Soldier Boy

One of the many uniformed soldiers in Tian'anmen square.

The atmosphere in this square is strange. You get the impression that people are here, as a sort of pilgrimage, and seeing a westerner here is a bonus too. We walked around a bit today (myself and a guy from my office, not from Beijing), saw some nice things, managed to get some small presents for the folk at home too. Happy at that.

Ended up at a small bar around a frozen lake. It wasn't as good as it sounds! Although the beer was quite nice :)
