Sooty Killed My Dad

It's not something the family
likes to talk about. Not that we're bitter.
And we accept that it was always six
of one and half a dozen of the other.

There are those who will say
Dad had it coming
and cite where he put his hand
and what he made that bear do.

But not all of that's true
and Sooty could give as good as he got.

Though they often used to argue.

One night things got out of hand.
They'd both been drinking.

Whether Sweep was involved or not
we don't know.
He keeps a low profile these days.

And Sooty never says a word.
