Christmas Cardinal

My birdfeeder was very busy this morning. I settled into my rocking chair with my camera, and I had alot of little birds willing to pose when suddenly this beauty landed.
He spent quite a while eating while I snapped away holding my breath so I didn't startle him.

This shows me how much I need to upgrade to a real camera, unfortunately. As much as I like the color and reflections in our lake, the lack of detail annoys me. I just can't capture what I'm seeing through the window with this little camera.
Long ago, before I went digital, I had a Canon 35mm with two telephoto lenses.
I don't want to spend the money for a new camera right now, but the blips I'm seeing in other journals are so spectacular I feel like I should!!

I guess I'll settle for now.
