Graduation
Great afternoon watching my niece go to her graduation.
Was given the superb Canon 28-300L lens for the afternoon - and totally didn't do it justice. Lighting in the hall was awful (as you'd expect) and dull. The IS on the L lens was brilliant and far better than I expected it to be. I'm sold on IS. Trouble is that the camera kept selecting 1/8 for shutter speed! So no matter how much I can hold the camera still, the subject would give a blur!
The lesson to learn is to preset the exposure beforehand and then put the camera in manual.
A lot of fun, and a lot of processing to do tomorrow to extract the best from the outing.
My other niece (I still can't believe these young ladies are my nieces) did a superb job of wearing a top with a white diamond which gives a perfect white balance point in post processing!
