Lack of lights!

Boys have gone to Cardiff in a hired 4x4 to get Jed for Christmas due to bad snowy/sleety/icey weather so I have put the tree up. Checked the lights before I put them on the tree, switched them on after I had finished decorating and NOTHING! So will just have to pretend they are sparkling!

11.15pm, is it a bit too late to be making a trifle?
