Is There In Truth No Beauty?

Putting myself in the picture with a visit to the Talbot Rice Gallery to see their current exhibition Beholder, part of the University of Edinburgh's celebration of the tercentenary of David Hume - the city's own philosopher, historian and essayist:

"Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them; and each mind perceives a different beauty."
