Ancestral certificate

This was was awarded to my Great-Aunt Doreen known as Aunty Dolly in 1926, she was the sister of my maternal Grandfather Edgar Slack (George Edgar Slack) and the reason my Grandparents met each other, sadly I never met her as she died in her early 40s from cancer, everyone who knew her says how funny she was and what fun she was too, I have seen photos and silent movies however.
My Grandmother Joy (Milldred Joyce Slack nee Travell) was a very promising violinist whose parents were quite wealthy, they hired Doreen to accompany Joy while she practiced her violin, Joy was 14 at the time Dorreen's older Brother Edgar
was 21, he fell in love with her at first sight and vowed to marry her, it took him 7 years but eventually they did get married aged 21 and 28, in fact they eloped, Joy's family were furious and refused to financially support her musical career as they didn't consider that having a career and a marriage was acceptable, this caused terrible heartache for everyone. However Joy and Edgar were married for 49 years very happily and had 3 daughters (my Mother Elizabeth being the middle one) until he died in 1978 aged 78 having been born on November the 2nd 1899, Joy outlived him by over 20 years and even met Max and Zebedee, she was an amazing person.
