Coffee, Hold the Cream
I was washing dishes today when I looked up and saw the reminder of the Thermos incident that happened to me this past summer. My mother came in from California for a visit; we decided to help out a friend and take her to San Antonio, Texas. It's an eight hour drive so I filled a large Thermos with coffee and dairy creamer. Well we drank some of it and forgot about the rest; it was sitting in the hot car for about two weeks. My hubby brought it to the kitchen and he went on outside to do his yard work. I tried opening it by hitting the sides of the lid but it would not budge, so I left it on the kitchen counter and decided to wait for the hubby to open it. I went to the living room to continue with other housework when 15 minutes later I heard a really loud POP! I thought to myself, "SOMEBODY IS TRYING TO KILL ME"!! I swear my heart jumped put of my body. I walked in the kitchen and saw pieces of plastic and splashes of what I can only describe as coffee cheese...blegh! I must have worked up the gases inside trying to open it; after a while the lid popped off, hit the ceiling and left this lovely half moon shaped indent.
I ordered the hubby a replacement lid and his Thermos is good as new! I could grab some spackle and fill in the indent but every time I look at it I crack up.
