Grandma's biscuits
When I was growing up my Grandma always baked St Annes biscuits at Christmas. Often decorated with silver balls they were a big treat. I have continued the tradition for the last thirty years, passing on the recipe to my own children. They are a simple almond flavoured biscuit, delicious just as they are, crisp and crunchy.
Why 'St Annes' - Mum says that Grandma got the recipe from someone who worked at St Anne's school.
Grandma's biscuits were round ... I have gathered a nice collection of cutters over the years :-)
