Thinking Of Angela

At work, I deal with a lot of Merkmal data. I didn't get around to looking up what it actually meant (until today) but I knew roughly what it contained and that was good enough for me. However, brains being brains, mine likes to associate words with things. And because I don't have a definite Merkmal label, my brain cast around for something that would do. It has alighted on Angela Merkel as the closest thing.

So every time I read the word Merkmal, I get a mental picture of Angela.

This is somewhat distracting. And not in a good way. I'm sure she is lovely when you get to know the real her but really, I can be doing without it.

Horrible wintry day today and I was not comforted by the weather forecast that said a storm will start tonight and finish some time on Saturday. Oh and then the temperature will drop. Super.

Today's Blip is Mistletoe growing in the tree near the house. I'd never seen it growing before I moved here. And your cultural comparison for today - in the Asterix books, the druid is Getafix in English and Miraculix in German.
