Cooling from the east....

.....East Midlands trains are great. Coach A is half first class and half cattle class; I'm in the section with straw on the floor. The 'at table service' is being dished out 5 feet behind me through the Perspex archway, and I'm sitting next to a young family who look like they don't have two beans (well, they won't on these ticket prices). The difference between the haves and have not is starkly emphasised. I'm off now to beg a warmed croissant with salmon and scrambled eggs from the businessman in first class trying to avoid my stare.

Derby next, I've never been before......
