Desperate But Not Serious

It was an effort to go out tonight.

A long day at work preceeded by a bad nights sleep, then a torturous drive over the top roads to Manchester, gritted four times by the grit vans, and then an interminable waltz around the outskirts of Manchester, looking for parking, followed by a battle with a ticket machine, set amidst the backdrop of increasingly irritated and insistent messages from my friend.......

and then i was there, and then it was brilliant (again), summed up aptly by said friend who observed:

" i've waited 32 years for this, and now i've seen him twice in six months"
