Today the main event was our christmas meal.
Graham's house was in charge of the turkey, the pigs in blankets, the christmas pudding, the brandy butter, and half the potatoes.
Me and Pose were in charge of all the veg; roast parsnips and carrots, broccoli and peas, as well as the decorations and place settings.
Peter's house did the rest of the potatoes, the stuffing, yorkshire puddings, gravy, mulled wine and mince pies.
I had an image of perfect co-ordination, of impeccable timing (probably because in first year we managed a meal of near-perfection for 10 people in a tiny kitchen using one tiny oven). It was slightly more chaotic than that, however, with people dashing from house to house in the rain with tables and trays of potatoes and tin foil.
As soon as we sat down to eat, though, all fourteen of us squished around three conjoined tables, lit only by fairy lights and candles, everything was perfect.
This is Joyce, my secret santa present from Piero (we had a 'something from poundland' rule), enjoying some brandy butter.
