Tree on tree.
Busy day today. Not much time for blipping. Still, good day nonetheless.
Many of our decorations on our christmas tree we have built up over years. Some survived, others have been less fortunate, but of those that have survived many years, we have a few 'translucent' baubles. I particularly like them as they help reflect the lights and give the tree a brighter feel and accentuate the effect of the lights.
Baubles also remind me of a promotion I organised for Tower Records 15-20 years ago (as their creative agency), where we had hundreds of massive 6 ft baubles manufactured in France for in-store merchandising over the christmas period. Just 24 hours before they were due to be delivered, the French truck drivers went on strike and I had lorry loads of these baubles sat in Calais, in a 15 mile long 'caravan' of goods for over a week. Long enough for Tower to cancel their order and refuse to pay or accept delivery some ten days later. Of course, in those days, such items were always sold 'ex-works', so guess who had to foot the bill at over £12,000, including the cost of delivering them back to France!
I still like baubles!
