Cone

This cone is on my Christmas tree, which I put up at the weekend. I'm using the dark nights (and my hesitation to go out on my own in the evenings to get some night shots) to practise shots in artificial light with my new-ish macro filter.

[Yesterday's blip was not in any way staged but the three you see in the pic were given some stick by the rest of us and they quickly put away their phones. Ironically, it was a snap taken with my phone! I do find it fascinating though how mobile phones can impact on the social scene and even change people's behaviour when they're on their own: I'm sure I read a lot more before getting a smart phone. I'd take a book out with me or read a paper in a cafe: now I look at Blip!
