Baker Street

I am at Baker Street on my way to Aldgate. I like the Metropolitan line and they have new trains which are open inside in which you can walk down the whole length of the carriages from one of the train to the other!!!

The Metropolitan Railway was the first underground railway in the world and opened as the Metropolitan Railway in 1863. This line had the highest speeds on the underground beyond Harrow on the Hill which was 70mph but is now 50/6mph in different sections. It runs from Aldgate in the city of London to Amersham in Buckinghamshire with branch lines to Uxbridge, Watford and Chesham. The Circle and Metropolitan lines are the only two underground lines that go beyond the Greater London boundary and the M25. There is a four track section between Wembly Park and Moor Park which allows the express trains to overtake slower trains. The Metropolitan line is the only underground line with this feature. It is the only tube line that does not call at all stations. Of the 34 stations only 9 are underground.
