Charles Austin

The 'Charles Austin' rose was named after the rose breeder David Austin's father. It's a wonderful rose - first apricot, then gradually turning pink. It is from 1973 and belongs to the "english roses" which have become very popular in southern Sweden (they are not hardy in the north). Another popular one is called 'Constance Spry', the very first of David Austin's roses, from 1961 (which was a great year, btw).
