Last minute
I realised at the weekend that there was no time to order cards in time to get them posted, and so ferreted around in boxes here and in the supermarket for anything Christmassy that me and the kids could make cards with. Happily I found a tree shaped cut-out thing and some red and green paper, with the addition of copious amounts of Cotes du Rhone (for me, not the kids), I think they look great (ish).
I had, of course, lost my address book - leading to much trawling back through emails (hurrah for never deleting anything) for everyone's last 'change of address' email.
Quiet day otherwise: getting some wood cut into funny shapes (the man in charge of cutting stuff at the local diy store is now a firm friend, with all the wood and glass we have had cut there. We have to get him to cut the wood, even though Mr B could happily do it himself, as it won't fit in the car otherwise. At the builder's merchant where we buy undressed wood we just have to saw it in half in their carpark. They seem quite used to this. Must just remind myself that last time we were in the builder's merchant they had a brazier lit and all the guys who dash around on little fork lift trucks getting your orders for you were gathered around the brazier to keep warm - still in their trucks. Maybe I'll be braver and get a picture of that next time - it was very Bob the Builder.) I think I became rather lost in parentheses there, anyway, not much else happened. Warm day - very anxious to get out there in the garden, but still way to much to get done in the house.
