Today's the day ...................... to batten down the hatches

The thing that is missing from this picture is the sound of the wind as it whistles through these slender eucalyptus trees - making them dance wildly. It has been blowing a gale here today and there's no sign of it letting up.

We should have gone to the funeral of a much loved aunt today up in Glasgow but the weather forecast for the route we would have travelled was so dire that we decided it would have been madness to set off.

So we have just stayed at home and tried to shut it all out. I can still hear the wind howling away though. It's not finished with us yet ..................
