Christmas Dolls
It's funny what you remember as a child.
These little figures belonged to my mother and they used to be brought out at Christmas time to decorate the house - usually lined up along the mantle-piece or sideboard. Quite bizarre and even a bit scary when I look at them now, but so familiar that they feel comforting to me.
I think these ones were meant to represent England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland but there are some others - one dressed as a sailor and one or two dressed in grass skirts.
