Tracy Ullman's Dress

I loved One Foot In The Grave. It was just like being at home. Not that I'm suggesting that anyone in this household is as grumpy as Victor Meldrew (but they may be), but because the mix of mundanity and surrealism seems very familiar. Maybe everybody thought that....

Anyway, in one of the more bizarre episodes of the year, yesterday I returned home from church to be presented with Tracy Ullman's dress. Apparently she wore it to the Emmys.

My spouse was at a fundraiser on Saturday night at which Tracy Ullman was appearing. In one of those complicated arrangements, Tracy (we're on first name terms now) offered to double the highest bid on her dress in the auction, which she duly did. Mr HPW was sitting with the previous highest bidder, and they asked what she was going to do with the dress. She said she didn't want it, so they sent it home for me.

It fits as well, but it might need a bit of wig tape to keep it on. That is the back though, in case your minds were boggling. I can't imagine when I would wear it, but my friends would probably agree it is (was) quite Me.

Maybe I'll wear it to see Status Quo on Saturday night? He won the tickets in a raffle last time he went to a do.
