Trumpets!
My weekend was interesting and clearly I have not come out of it unscathed. Having taken to bed at 9pm last night, you would think that I would have been razor sharp for my shopping this morning.
Having pinched my boys paper round money for the bus fare - criminal - I left for town. I had even more things to take back. My man yesterday asked where to get new shoes, as I was on the gymnastics circular I offered to pick up a pair. He is easy pleased. He liked them and tried them on - 'these fit fine' said he. Good said I cos I though you took a size 9 but your old ones were size 8.
No No NO he replied, I am a 9 now you see I can feel it they don't fit!!!!!!!
I got off the bus and immediately realised that my purse was on the kitchen table at home. I had 40p to my name and no power in my phone! I though of a taxi home but I actually had no money in my purse either so I doubted he would indulge me. Silly girl. It was raining now and I hopped into M&S. You would think a small city like Edinburgh, where everyone knows everyone you would meet someone you could cadge a bus fare off. Not a chance.
I took a punt on my girlfriend, Diane. She works in the city in some ridiculously high powered financial affair. She is rarely in the city but the angels were singing today and she was there. The sweetheart offered me credit cards, wads of cash, coffee, the lot, but all I wanted was a shot of these trumpets, I can't imagine what else they could be, and £1 for my bus fare home. Haven't I always said I'm a cheap date. Ah the sweet sound of Christmas trumpets.
