Festive spirit in the neighborhood

While Little Man raced up and down the street on his bike, I looked for a holiday blip of the day. I didn't have to look far! This is the front door of my neighbors' house. He is a mathematician, she is a textile artist and a calligrapher.

I tried the B&W look, but the unreal orange sunset hue was too much to pass up.

I am almost done with the semester. Two of my students decided to go missing in action, and failed to turn in their final written assignment (10% of course's grade), and their take-home final examination (25%), which consisted of a series of essays. Not sure what to make of it...
