long, very long

A very different day today: 5-6cm snow since about 7.30 this morning and a temperature just below freezing.

Took what I thought was a clever route across town to meet Catherine at the Farmer's Market. Unfortunately, it seemed that every light and every minor obstruction was not in my favour.

In addition, my clever route involved this railway crossing.

I have never seen a train on this crossing before .....but here we are today waiting while the longest train I can ever remember crawls along the rack, stops, then reverses for a bit before finally moving on and getting out of the way.

This took over nine minutes.

Having said all that I got to my destination safely!
