The Stork Has Arrived!

After all the wrangling with Sears, the store stork has delivered me my new baby! A 50 inch Panasonic HD Plasma TV.

It wasn't an easy labor, however. The first one to arrive, the little guy, was the intern. He showed up with just his toolbox.

Me: "You did bring the TV with you, right?"
Intern: "It wasn't delivered to you already?"
Me: "No."
Intern: "I better go get it. I'll be right back."

The store is less than five minutes away so that was no problem.

When he returned, he brought the head physician to deliver the baby.

Intern: "When I realized how big it (the TV/baby) was, I realized it was a two man job."

So up it went. There was no HDMI cable, so while they were working, I had to run to Sears to buy one.

The remote for the DirecTV satellite isn't working the way it should so that's another phone call.

But my baby is here and it's beautiful. Every inch of her.

I'm donating the old 27 inch one to the Animal League. They have a resale shop to support the animal shelter. They will pick it up, with a few other things in the morning.

I told my mom last night that I was going to skip her Italian Catholic Federation group's luncheon this afternoon because I still wasn't feeling well. But this morning, maybe because I'm a little more chipper about the television, I feel better. I've decided to go. It's not about the group, it's about spending time together.

Every day I realize it could be our last together. I don't want to squander it.
