Grey Day, Grey Heron

H1 was working today which meant I could get out and chase a few birds. But of course the weather had other ideas. Driving rain kept most things down and instead of me chasing after a few less common birds I resigned myself to the shelter of the hide and watched the lake for a couple of hours.

However, just sitting quietly on your own is still good for the soul, especially when you see Red Kites, Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Twite, Little Egret, Lesser Redpoll, BullFinch and a Kingfisher in all in 45 minutes.
