Mistakes

(i)

The light
at the end of the forest's tunnel
was so inviting, so bright,
that as she took those first steps
she must have thought
the route was safe,
the destination certain.


(ii)

A girl leaves a club.
Takes a short cut.
Her legs lit by headlights.
She carries her shoes.

A car stops. A door opens.
The smile is bright. Inviting.


(iii)

Opportunities present themselves
he says.

Right time. Right place.

You just have to be there.
Then bingo!
