A time for everything

Cold afternoon walk

Today was a sunny but cold day - it barely made it above freezing. I was doing odd jobs at home in the morning, then we had choir rehearsal at church early afternoon. This was our rehearsal with orchestra for our special Christmas presentation tomorrow morning of excerpts from the Messiah. We always invite other people from the congregation who don't normally sing with the choir to join us for our Christmas presentation, and this time about ten or so people have joined us, so we have a total of 44, the most that any of us remember in many years. It's just a shame that we're not singing more choruses - since we moved to three services to meet the needs of a growing congregation, the services are only 45 minutes long, and our pastor still does a short address, so we have limited time. After rehearsal, Roger and I went to Rowe Woods to get our daily exercise, and take advantage of the sunshine. We didn't see many other people - I guess partly because it was late afternoon and probably the cold temperatures put some people off.
