Caledonian Canal locks at Muirtown, Inverness, on a snowy evening.
After the milder day yesterday (along with the storm force winds, heavy rain, thawing snow, and consequential devastation...), today became more like the start of the week. The wind and temperature dropped, and the snow returned.
Went for a short swim with the intention of easing the aches and pains that were gained from last night's exertions. It didn't succeed. Perhaps I was too cold after a detour to the West side of town to seek tonight's Blip. I was wandering about the locks area for a while, feeling cold throughout my visit. In the pool, every time I paused, I was aware that the "goosebumps" hadn't cleared.
After the pool closed to the public, the Canoe Club had some training, which tonight was their annual sea kayak session. Normally they use much smaller and more manageable craft - you can safely fit many more of the smaller ones in! I stayed behind, and after clearing it with the pool Staff, took some photos of the ensuing fun, as folk had a go at: Eskimo rolling; rescuing one another; and more. Had to let the camera acclimatise for a while before it could be used - if you're not careful, a cold camera brought into a warm and humid environment, equals condensation inside and out... not recommended.
After that, back to the locks to look for the lens cap for this camera. No chance, there hadn't been much snow, but enough to hide it and my earlier tracks.
[Reached home after midnight, so this is a back-Blip.]
