It was the pothole what done it!

This is the flippin' great pothole that made my husband come off his bike last week, damaging his knee very badly. He had to have an operation to remove all the crud that went into it from the road surface as well as assess the damage to the patella, tib/fib and femur. He now has a nasty open wound which requires redressing by the district nurse every 2 days, is on crutches, unable to drive and in a great deal of pain.

I phone the council - Argyll and Bute, potentially the worst local authority in Scotland - reported the incident and because I mentioned the words 'sue', 'operation', 'loss of earning' they actually came out and patched the road up despite it being reported several times by friends and neighbours over the past few weeks. I will be suing for extensive loss of earnings (husband and self are both freelance and lost 2 days work between us which amounts to around £400) plus damage to bike and clothing. A&BC sent me a letter asking for lots of very specific information backed up by photographic images - they don't know what they've let themselves in for!
