Thanks for all the fish

Alistair Darling MP and former chancellor was signing copies of his memoirs, Back From The Brink, today in an Edinburgh bookshop. He was difficult to photograph as he seemed relaxed and natural when talking to people who had come to get their books signed but when I asked him to pose for a shot and look at the camera he looked a bit uncomfortable. I hung around for a bit trying to get a better shot and therefore could hear people asking for their inscriptions. Presents for fathers and sons mostly. 'Inscribe it to so-and-so, please'. But one request was a bit different. 'Write, "Thanks for all the fish", you know, from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.' Something a bit different.
