Can a leopard

....change its spots? Well it seems that a hen can. We have three light Sussex hens and four big fat brown french hens. The Sussex on the far left of the photo has suddenly started sprouting some brown feathers. She's three years old and hasn't done that before.

Does anyone know about this phenomenon?
