No Eclipse

News on TV announced that there was to be an eclipse at 5:30 am low on the horizon. So I went to see the eclipse but it wasn't there. Waited until moonset and still no eclipse. I must have missed the time, however while waiting I turned around and saw this view of Tucson. It was an opportunity to test results with ISO 100 versus ISO 1600. More details and a comparison here.

Tucson before sunrise 6:03 am. Added 4.00 stops in post processing. Apparently the shot was at a sufficient altitude to reveal the layer of dust and other light-scattering matter that hovers over most cities. Nobody wants to call it smog so I'll just label it pollution because it is more evident in wintertime when more vehicles are on the road.

View large and note the star trails from the 30 second exposure.
