close encounter...
...with a tree
at least it appears that way - doesn't it? it didn't when i snapped it... the crow was simply heading out towards the lake and i was thinking to myself how it looked frozen... i wasn't even paying attention to the bird to be honest. it has been so freezing cold lately and i haven't been feeling well the last several days that i've stuck close to home... but an appointment took me out of the house today - so i went by the lake... it was all but deserted - some squirrels were frolicking about and there were about 5 crows allowing me to stalk them... letting me get ever so close to snap and then flying away. this was one and like i said... when he took off, i was more intent on the lake itself being frozen.
isn't it interesting how when we're focused on something entirely different... a rather extraordinary thing can happen? when i uploaded my pictures, this is what i saw - the bird seeming to fly into the tree... i laughed at the supposed head on collision taking place - bird eating tree... knowing this would be making its way to blip, edging out the cute squirrel i thought i was going to use... because it's just too unusual and anytime i get a bird shot - makes for...
a
happy day.....
