Oh No, It's Culchie* Day!

In America, they have Black Friday. Here it's December 8th - The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Traditionally, the schools would be closed for the major Catholic feast days (ok, not those heathen Protestant ones!). So every year, the Culchies* would gather up the kids and head for the Big Smoke to do the Christmas Shopping.

Unfortunately for Monkey Boy, his school is multi-denominational! And most schools are open today now. But if you're a Dub, you still try and avoid the city centre - and it definitely was busier today than yesterday or Monday!

* For the non-Irish among you, Culchie covers anyone Irish not fortunate enough to be from Dublin.
