Yacht Race

Hooray! I photographed person who isn't related to me. Admittedly I didn't ask if I could take his picture.

We were all watching the yachts coming back into harbour from their Wednesday afternoon races. That goes to show that at least a few of the many beautiful boats in the harbour are actually used for what they are designed for, or used at all for that matter. It was quite a spectacle, I just wish that they had all come in under full sail. That could have been disastrous though. No brakes on boats see.

There was quite a crowd down there. I bumped into a photographer I used to assist about fifteen years ago. We had a quick chat. It was nice to see some of the old school photographers still in the game.

Today was pretty hard work. I was placed in the bindery (again) and spent my entire day sorting brochures at the back of a folding machine. I am really glad I didn't choose binding as a trade. I found it pretty heavy going. By that I mean quite physical, especially on the hands and forearms. I stuck at it all day without complaint. I think they were waiting for the softie Mac operator to crack. I suspect I will be in for more of it tomorrow.

Other news. I somehow managed to snap the shaft for my kickstarter on my bike. Not the kickstarter itself, but the shaft that goes into the engine. That is going to take some fixing. I bump started it after work and rode it home, being very careful not to stall it. I might have to park it in the garage for a month or two until I have the time to do some serious mechanics. I might have to look for the manual as well.

I don't seem to have much luck with that bike.

On the upside. I thought it was Tuesday all day today.
