Fields of Play

The ballfields, playgrounds, even the indoor pool are all mostly empty on this late Tuesday afternoon but when the weekend arives this will be the site of huge crouds and excitement. Parents will cheer on their kids and call the umpires blind, basketball refs will try to stay out of the way, the merry-go-round will screem its lack of oil, and blue-haired old ladies will do water arobics in the pool. Sales of ice cream and sodas, hand fans and bottled water will be brisk.
